A Reiki healing session (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle, holistic practice that supports your overall wellbeing. Based in West London, I offer a calm space to experience Reiki, inviting your body, mind, and spirit to settle, restore, and reconnect with their natural sense of ease and balance.

A Reiki session gently supports your bodyโ€™s natural ability to restore balance. Energy is invited to flow where it is most needed, guided by your bodyโ€™s own wisdom. My role is to hold a safe, open, and compassionate space, where youโ€™re invited to be with your experience as it unfolds, in whatever way feels right for you.

Sessions nurture your whole being, inviting a deep sense of ease, balance, and alignment.

Reiki, often translated as โ€œuniversal life force energyโ€ or โ€œspiritual energy,โ€ supports your body and mindโ€™s natural way of returning to balance and harmony. Sessions invite a remembering of your innate wholeness, allowing energy to move as it needs to.

Over time, energetic imbalances can arise in the body and energy system, which may show up in many ways โ€” such as tension, emotional overwhelm, fatigue, illness, or a sense of feeling out of balance. During a session, Reiki supports your body, mind, and energy system โ€” as one โ€” to gently respond to whatโ€™s present and move towards greater balance and ease.

Many people notice deep relaxation as the nervous system settles into its natural โ€œrest and digestโ€ state. Some feel warmth, tingling, heaviness, lightness, or subtle movement, while others simply experience calm, spaciousness, or quiet rest. There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki.

Each session unfolds in its own way, guided by what you most need in that moment. You are invited to simply rest and be with your own experience, allowing whatever arises โ€” or doesnโ€™t โ€” to be just as it is.

What Reiki Sessions Can Support With

Reiki can support many aspects of wellbeing, helping the body and mind to find balance and harmony in their natural way. People often explore Reiki for support with:

  • Deep relaxation, anxiety and stress relief
  • Releasing tension and supporting ease in the body
  • Emotional balance and resilience
  • Encouraging deeper, more restful sleep
  • Clarity, calm, and grounding for the mind
  • Enhancing energy, vitality, and overall wellbeing
  • Relief from physical discomfort
  • Supporting other healing therapies or practices

Some come for a single session to pause, rest, and recharge, while others choose to receive Reiki over time to gently explore deeper self-healing and integration. There is no โ€œone right pathโ€ โ€” each personโ€™s experience and pace is unique.

In-person sessions

Sessions last around 1 hour โ€“ 1 hour 15 minutes, including a short consultation at the start and end, the Reiki treatment itself, and a gentle mindfulness meditation to help you settle into the space.

Youโ€™ll be invited to lie on a massage table with a blanket or eye mask if that feels comforting, or you’re welcome to sit if that feels more comfortable.

For around 45-minutes:

  • I place my hands gently on or just above your body, guided by the energy your body invites in that moment.
  • You may notice sensations such as tingling, warmth, subtle movement, or shifts in emotions or body awareness.
  • Some people drift into rest or sleep, while others feel more awake or aware. At times, sensations or emotions may come into awareness as the body responds โ€” all experiences are welcome and supported.
  • Reiki continues to flow throughout the session, supporting your body and mind in their own unique way.

At the close of the session, we’ll pause together for a few moments. This is your time โ€” to notice, to rest, to simply be with what is present. You may sense warmth, calm, or simply the pause itself, allowing yourself to arrive fully in this moment.

Weโ€™ll also take a little time to talk through aftercare, offering gentle guidance on how to continue supporting yourself beyond the session, always in a way that feels right for you.

Distance Sessions

Distance sessions offer the same gentle, supportive experience as in-person treatments, from the comfort of your own home. Simply create a quiet space where you can sit or lie undisturbed โ€” light a candle, play calming music, or do whatever helps you feel relaxed and held.

During the session, I attune to your energy while you rest, allowing Reiki to flow in the way your body and mind need. There is no need to do anything, and you may notice similar sensations as in-person sessions, such as warmth, tingling, or a sense of calm and spaciousness โ€” or simply the quiet of the moment.

Weโ€™ll also take a few minutes before and after the session to connect, set intentions, and discuss aftercare, so you feel fully supported throughout. Sharing a recent photo beforehand can help me attune and focus during the session, if youโ€™d like.

I’ve had several beautiful Reiki treatments with Katie and have cherished each one. Nothing helps me to truly relax and let go of whatever is happening in my life at the time better than Reiki. Katie creates such a loving and welcoming environment and I felt safe and supported from the very beginning. It’s the best part of my self care ritual.

    FAQs

How many Reiki healing sessions will I need?

This really depends on your needs and intentions. Some people come for a single session to rest, reset, or support themselves during a busy or challenging time. Others choose to receive Reiki more regularly as part of a deeper self-healing journey.

If there are ongoing patterns or challenges youโ€™d like to explore, continued sessions can gently support your body and mind as they move through these in their own time. We can talk this through together, listening to what feels supportive for you. Thereโ€™s no โ€œrightโ€ number of sessions โ€” youโ€™re always welcome to take things at your own pace.

What does a Reiki healing session feel like?

Each session can be different, and thereโ€™s no โ€œrightโ€ way to experience Reiki. Some people notice physical sensations such as warmth, tingling, or subtle movement, while others simply feel more relaxed or spacious.

You may feel very present, drift into rest, or notice thoughts, emotions, or sensations coming into awareness as your body responds. However your experience unfolds is completely welcome โ€” your body will respond in the way it needs to, in its own time.

Will you give me feedback or insights after the session?

At the end of the session, weโ€™ll take time to talk through aftercare and any practical support that may help you integrate the experience.

If it feels supportive, I can share where I noticed energy flowing during the session, without interpretation or analysis. Youโ€™re not asked to make sense of anything โ€” often there is a quiet beauty in simply being with your experience as it is, without needing to analyse, explain, or attach meaning. This openness can allow your bodyโ€™s own wisdom to continue unfolding in its own way and time.

Your experience is honoured as the most important part of the process, and gentle reflection in the days following your session can support integration, allowing any insights to arise naturally through self-care and attentiveness.

    Is Reiki healing safe?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive practice that works alongside your bodyโ€™s natural processes. It can be received by people of all ages and can complement other forms of care or therapy. Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment, but it can be a supportive addition to your overall wellbeing.
