Rumi

Reiki Level 1 is an immersive one-day course — a gentle and grounding introduction to the system of Reiki as a path of healing, presence and self-discovery. Whether you’re completely new to Reiki, have received Reiki healing treatments before, or simply feel called to deepen your connection to your true self, you are warmly welcome here.

Reiki is commonly known through hand-on/off healing treatments, yet this is only one part of a wider system. Rooted in Japanese tradition, the full practice includes meditations, breathing techniques, and guiding principles for living — all designed to support an exploration of your true, wholehearted self.

Held in a supportive and nurturing environment, you’ll be gently guided through an experiential exploration of healing and presence through core foundational practices—laying the foundations for a personal spiritual practice you can return to again and again. This is the beginning of an inward journey of reconnecting with your true nature and natural sense of clarity, presence, and inner harmony.

An important note

This Reiki Level 1 course is centred on self-healing and personal practice.

Reiki is not a regulated profession in the UK, and people follow different paths depending on how they wish to practise. This course is designed as a foundation for your own healing and development, rather than a route into professional training or registration with organisations such as the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council(CNHC).

If you feel called to practise Reiki professionally, or to work towards registration with CNHC, additional training would be needed.

Wherever you find yourself in life, Reiki offers a steady and supportive path into deeper connection, presence, and self-discovery. As a practitioner who continues to walk this path, I would love to welcome you.

This training is intentionally kept to a small group of just three people, allowing for a deeply nurturing, supportive, and personal experience.

You’re drawn here if:

  • You feel called toward healing and deeper self-discovery
  • You’re curious to explore your own healing in a more intentional way
  • You understand that true healing unfolds over time
  • You want to build a supportive practice you can return to in every day life
  • You feel drawn inward — towards presence, awareness, and growth, rather than the pursuit of “powers”
  • You sense or recognise that healing arises from within

During our day together, you will:

  • Learn about the principles and roots of Reiki (Usui Reiki Ryōhō)
  • Explore healing and energy across the whole being — body, heart, mind, and spirit
  • Be guided through the core elements of the Reiki system, including principles for living, gentle meditations, and breathing practices
  • Learn how to give yourself a Reiki healing treatment as a supportive daily practice
  • Receive two Reiki attunements (Reiju / spiritual blessings)
  • Be introduced to offering Reiki to others (additional training is required to practise professionally)
  • Enjoy nourishing teas and homemade snacks
  • Take home your Reiki Level 1 manual, with guidance to support your continued practice

By the end of the day, you’ll have a clear and simple way to practise Reiki healing for yourself, along with the foundations to continue developing your own personal practice.

If you have experienced a Reiki healing session before, you may already know how these can support balance and harmony on every level of your being. As you receive your attunements (Reiju), and in the time that follows the course as you continue to practise, you may notice shifts or side effects of your energy balancing and harmonising — all part of a natural and supportive integration process. Please see the FAQs below for more information.

Practising the system of Reiki in this way is a journey — one that may benefit from ongoing support and gentle guidance. Alongside the course, you’ll receive structured follow-up support as your practice begins to take shape. This includes a 1:1 follow-up call, as well as a group integration session within the first four to six weeks. These sessions offer a supportive space to ask questions, share your experiences, and gently settle into your practice.

Additional support beyond this can be arranged separately as needed.

You will receive a Reiki Level 1 certificate of completion following the training. This reflects your participation in Level 1 Reiki training. This particular training is not part of a CNHC-aligned training pathway or a regulated qualification.

This training is intentionally kept to a small group of just three people, allowing for a nurturing, supportive, and personal experience.

What should I wear?

Please wear something comfortable that allows you to fully relax. Soft, loose-fitting clothing is ideal, as much of the day will be spent in gentle practices, and receiving or offering Reiki. Layers are recommended so you can adjust your comfort throughout the day.

What do I need to bring?

Everything you need for the training will be provided, including your manual and refreshments.
Please bring a lunch with you. There is a fridge available if you’d like to store anything fresh.
You may also wish to bring
a water bottle and anything that helps you feel comfortable and at ease (such as a shawl or cosy socks).

What is an attunement?

Reiju (often referred to as an attunement) is a traditional practice within the system of Reiki, offered by the teacher to the student. It is one of the core elements of the system. During this process, you’ll be seated comfortably (either on the floor or in a chair) as you’re gently guided through a simple breathing practice. I will hold a calm, supportive space while completing a quiet energetic blessing.

Rather than something being “given” or “done” to you, Reiju can be understood as a remembering — a process in which your body draws on the energy it needs, allowing you to reconnect with your natural sensitivity to energy. Within this space, you’re supported in receiving what you need, in your own way and at your own pace, in the same way as a Reiki healing treatment.

How will I feel after the course?

Everyone’s experience is unique. Many people leave feeling calm and grounded. For others, the experience may be more subtle — a quiet sense of openness, release, or gentle change unfolding over the days that follow. At times, the experience can feel more noticeable or intense, as the body and energy begin to shift and rebalance. You’ll be supported to meet whatever arises with care and gentleness.

This process is guided by your body’s innate wisdom, with everything unfolding in its own time, in the way that’s right for you. You’ll be held in support as you integrate your experience, and encouraged to move gently, at your own pace, as your practice begins to deepen.

Where can I learn more about the system of Reiki

If you’re feeling curious, you might begin simply by noticing what draws you to Reiki in the first place. There are many books and resources available, but it’s also perfectly okay to arrive with an open mind and no prior knowledge. This course is designed to give you a grounded, authentic introduction to the system as it’s traditionally taught.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare, or in the days following the course?

There’s nothing you need to do to prepare — you’re welcome exactly as you are.

Reiki is, at its heart, a practice. In the days and weeks after the course, taking time to sit with the techniques can make a meaningful difference — supporting a greater sense of awareness, steadiness, and inner balance, and helping the practice to feel more natural and your own.

It also offers a simple way to come back to yourself, and to the understanding that healing begins from within.
