What is a Reiki Healing Treatment?
A Reiki healing treatment (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle, holistic therapy that nurtures your overall wellbeing. It is part of a wider system developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s—a system that also includes meditations and mantras, created to help people reconnect with their innate wholeness and sense of harmony. Reiki treatments support your body, mind, and spirit, encouraging energy to move freely and fostering a sense of ease and alignment.
A Reiki session is an opportunity to support your body’s natural ability to restore its own balance. I allow energy to flow where it is most needed, guided by your body’s wisdom. My intention is to hold a safe, open, and compassionate space, inviting you to connect with your own experience and insights in a way that feels right for you.
How a Treatment Works
During a Reiki healing treatment, your body draws on Reiki energy—translated as “universal life force energy” or “spiritual energy”—to support the natural flow of energy within. Over time, this flow can become imbalanced or stagnated, which may show up in many different ways in our lives—for example, as tension, emotional overwhelm, or a sense of being “stuck.”
A treatment helps restore balance so energy can move more freely again. By activating the body’s parasympathetic nervous system—its natural “rest and digest” mode—people often feel deeply relaxed, encouraging the body’s own healing abilities. Many people describe feelings of warmth, tingling, or lightness, while some simply notice a sense of calm and spaciousness.
For some, a single session can bring noticeable relief, while others find that a few sessions help their body release more deeply and integrate the energy fully. Every body is unique, and the pace of healing is guided by your own needs.
Supporting the Whole You
Reiki healing treatments nurture and support the whole of who you are: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. These parts may sometimes feel separate, but they are deeply and beautifully interconnected. Reiki honours this interconnectedness, allowing shifts to ripple through all layers of your being, in their own timing and in their own way.
My role is to hold a calm, welcoming space where your body’s own wisdom guides the flow of energy. I do not interpret, or dictate what you “should” feel; instead, I create an open space for you to receive, rest, and, if you wish, reflect on your own experience.
A Note on the Healing Journey
While a single Reiki healing treatment can bring nourishment, comfort, and relief, true healing unfolds as an ongoing process. Reiki treatments support this journey by inviting us to be aware of our own experience and to consciously engage with the subtle shifts in our body, mind, and spirit. In this way, Reiki is not only the flow of energy itself but also an invitation to take an active, mindful role in our own wellbeing and growth.
By dedicating time and attention to yourself, you create space to step more fully into your authentic, wholehearted self. Reiki can be a gentle yet profound guide along the way, helping you reconnect with inner calm, trust, and resilience.
What Happens During a Reiki Healing Treatment?

In-person sessions
Sessions last around 1 hr – 1 hr 15 mins, including a short consultation at the start and end, energy balancing, and a brief mindfulness meditation to help you settle into the space.
You’ll be invited to lie on a massage table, with a blanket and eye mask for comfort, if you like, though sitting is also perfectly fine if that feels better for you. Where possible, please let me know in advance if this is your preference.
For around 45-minutes:
- I will place my hands on or just above your body, guided by your body as it draws on the energy it needs in that moment.
- You may notice sensations such as tingling, warmth, coolness, subtle movement, or shifts in your body or emotions.
- Some people drift into rest or sleep, while others simply feel calm and present—whatever arises is perfectly normal.
- Reiki continues to flow throughout the session, supporting you in your own unique way
At the end of the session, we’ll take a few moments to talk about after-care and any questions you have. I can gently share where I could feel energy flowing, if you would like, but otherwise the focus is entirely on your experience. I do not interpret or provide readings—this space is for you to connect with and reflect on your own process.
Distance Sessions
- 1-hr – 1 hr 15 min sessions from the comfort of your own home, offering the same gentle and supportive experience as in-person treatments.
- Simply create a quiet space where you can sit or lie undisturbed. Light a candle, play calming music, or do whatever helps you feel relaxed and held.
- There is the option for us to connect before and after the session by phone or video call, allowing space to set intentions, share experiences, and support your wellbeing.
- I’ll invite you to share a recent photo with me beforehand, to help me attune and focus during the session.

What Reiki Healing Treatments Can Support

Investing in a Reiki healing session (pricing)
- An initial in-person session typically lasts 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, allowing time for us to talk through Reiki healing, how the session works, and for you to share what has brought you to Reiki and what you hope to gain from the sessions (if you wish to) – £65.
- Follow-up in-person sessions typically last 1 hour, offering space to settle in, receive Reiki healing, and reflect on how you’re feeling – £60.
- Distance or remote Reiki healing session (1hr) – £45.

Hi beautiful souls, I’m Katie. I qualified as a Reiki practitioner in 2019, almost a decade into my own journey of healing. I am dedicated to deepening my understanding and practice of the Japanese system of Reiki which focuses on personal development, healing, and spirituality. I regularly practice the system of Reiki, including self-healing, breathwork, and meditation, ensuring I can hold space for my clients and be a clear and open channel for energy to flow during a session.
I am trained and fully insured as a Cacao Ceremony Facilitator and am in awe of just how impactful working with this beautiful plant medicine can be. I have been meditating for over ten years and am a qualified meditation teacher and member of the UK Reiki Federation.
